What is a Hot Chocolate Charcuterie Board?

We came across the idea of a hot chocolate charcuterie board and knew we had to try it. It not only looked fun but Rochelle got to help create and be a part of the making of our boards. And she loved the flavor of a flavored hot chocolate drink.

So, what is this Hot Chocolate Charcuterie Board? Simply put, it is like an appetizer board to make your own cup of hot chocolate and choose your own yummy snacks to go with it!

What does Charcuterie mean?

Charcuterie is a French term is is usually associated with prepared meats and other items “artfully” displayed on on a serving plate or board. This has expanded to other types of food as well. For example, our Hot Chocolate Charcuterie Board.

Items used in our Hot Chocolate Board

We found a nice hot chocolate mix that we really like but you can use your favorite or what you have on hand. We used Stephen’s Gourmet Hot Cocoa.

We used Butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, semisweet chocolate chips for fun flavorings. Add some marshmallows or whip cream as well as caramel sauce for yummy toppings to your drink and your all set.

Remember, choose things that you and your targeted audience (your family, kids, or significant other) will like and have fun with. It is also important to note that you don’t have to break the bank and buy everything posted here or on other sites.

Sometimes simple is elegant.

The most important part is to have fun with those you love!

Funny behind the scenes moment

We often thought about adding videos to our blog. However, the times we have tried have ended in some pretty funny bloopers. Nothing screams “quiet on the set” then a child (Rochelle) adding her two cents in!

We attempted several times and it got to be too silly to continue. But it was all fun and we laughed a lot! It was so worth it!

Blooper reel

We have done a Holiday Cheese Board but never called it a Charcuterie board! Should we go back and change the name?

We hope you have fun and be as artfully creative as you like!

Hi, my name is Yvonne. I am the other half of the Morgan sisters. We are, believe it or not, twins! Fraternal twins at that. We live in the bountiful Willamette valley where the seasons are mild and the harvests are plentiful. I have a beautiful little red headed daughter named Rochelle.

  1. I just love your sure. I can not even spell that name let alone know what it means. Thank you.

    1. It is basically a fancy name for artfully displayed food for appetizers. This is a lot of fun and you can be as creative as you want!
