We love our chili lime flavored Pork Chops! Mind you, pork chops Au Naturale are lip smacking good too. However, it is nice to find a seasoning that not only pairs well with the flavor of pork chops but doesn’t overpower it either.
The flavor of Chili Lime Pork Chops
While some members are not fond of really spicy foods, everyone can agree that a nice zesty lime flavor is pretty darn good! Our Chili Lime Pork Chops are a popular choice in this family.
The Chili adds a mild smokey heat while the Lime brings just the right amount of zest to balance it out! Combined with the natural pork flavors and it is a happy dance for the palette!
Cooking the Chili Lime Pork Chops
One of our favorite ways to cook pork chops are in foil packets, however, those are for days when we aren’t dying from starvation and about to eat everything but the carpet!

For this recipe, we chose to cook the old fashioned way. We cooked our chops on the stovetop in a skillet. There are pros and cons to cooking any meat on the stovetop. Remember our Biscuits and Bacon Gravy blog?
Yes, it gets real very quickly when you get splashed by hot popping grease. Ouch!
After a few muttered bad words, one learns to keep cooking meat in a pan covered!
A warning to all! We have witnessed first hand that the meat is just lying in there waiting, waiting for the lid to come off and then POP!!! It gets you!!!
Ok, so aside from the dodging of grease splatters and the having to clean said grease off the stove and counters later, there is one more thing to worry about when cooking meat on the stovetop. Especially pork chops.
It is how to keep the pork chops from burning on the outside BEFORE they are done on the inside. No one wants a pork chop that is still oinking! That’s just not right! Nor do we want to eat meat the texture of a shoe sole.
How to cook the pork chops without burning
A key factor in cooking a pork chop is to make sure the skillet is already heated. Once the pork chops are seasoned with your chosen ingredients such as chili lime, it is time to place them in the preheated skillet and then leave them alone!
Let the pork chops cook without moving them too much except to turn often. And by often, we mean every 3 minutes. This lets them settle and cook evenly and cuts down on the burn aspect.
The Chili Lime Pork Chops should cook about 20 minutes or until internal temperature is 160 degrees fahrenheit. After that, remove from pan and let the chops rest for about 5 minutes in a foil tent.
This lets the juices settle and keeps your pork chops tender and juicy, not to mention delicious!
We saw some recent articles about the safe temperatures for pork being lowered from 160 degrees F to 145 degrees F, for a medium rare. Quite honestly, we prefer ours done, yet still tender.
This recipe will show you how to do just that. See recipe below!

Wrap up and last minute thoughts on our Chili Lime Pork Chops
We love the natural taste of pork chops highlighted with our chili lime seasonings. The chili is mild enough for all tummies while the lime balances nicely with a wonderful zesty flavor.
We do like to cook our pork chops in a skillet, preferably cast iron, so we can obtain a nice brown pork chop that is still tender and juicy!
This is an easy recipe to follow and basic enough that you can adjust or alter the spices to your liking.
Sometimes, simpler is better!

minutesChili Lime Pork Chops, skillet fried with the pork chops nicely browned outside and tender juicy inside flavored with mild zesty chili lime.
Ingredients
4 1 inch boneless pork chops
Chili lime seasoning
Kosher salt to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
Directions
- Pat the pork chops dry, and generously season with kosher salt and the chili lime seasoning on both sides.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and let it heat up for about a minute. Add the pork chops to the pan, and don’t move them! Let them sit for about 3 minutes, then turn them.
- After turning them the 1st time, reduce the heat to medium high, on our stove it is a 5, and continue cooking the pork chops for a total cook time of 20 minutes.
- You want to make sure to turn them every 3 minutes, this prevents them from burning, and allows for even cooking.
- Check with a meat thermometer for doneness, should be 160 F for fully cooked, and remove the pork chops to a plate. Tent with foil and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.
- The pork chops will be juicy and tender. Serve with veggies and sides of your choice. Enjoy!
