This Easy Creamy Parmesan Lemon Pasta is a dream to make, and even better to eat. I had a recipe for something similar. However, I couldn’t remember it to save my own life.
I tried many times to replicate my own lemon Parmesan pasta. I ended up, however, torturing the family with very strange pasta dishes instead.
After that, I had to admit that my recipe was lost for all of eternity.
Therefore, I decided to do a recipe review. I am happy to say, this family is very ecstatic with the turnout.
The recipe search begins with a big thank you
I found the recipe on simply-delicious-food.com. Alida Ryder, from Simply Delicious, saved my sanity, and satisfied my cravings for a creamy, dreamy, lemony dish of pasta. Yummy!!
This Easy Creamy Parmesan Lemon Pasta is such a simple, yet beautiful plate of pasta. The sauce is smooth and rich which is hard to do when fresh lemon is combined with heavy cream!
The sauce is tangy from the lemon, savory from the garlic and Parmesan. And the best part is that it only takes about 20 minutes to make!
I love how Alida uses sour cream along with the heavy cream. In addition, the sour cream acts as a thickener for the sauce.
Ideas to try with this Easy Creamy Parmesan Lemon Pasta
This Pasta dish would be wonderful with crusty bread on the side, or even say topped with grilled chicken. Ooh! Pan charred Brussels sprouts, cooked in lemon and garlic, would be awesome with this pasta!! Something to work on, I think.
Well guys, my sister and I, along with 2 friends who are like family to us, all love this Easy Creamy Parmesan Lemon Pasta. Rochelle even ate some! That counts as approval coming from a 5 year old! I plan on making this dish often!! This one is a keeper for sure. It gets 5 stars from our family.
If you like this pasta recipe then you need to try either this One Pot Caprese Pasta or this One Pot Savory Ricotta Pasta.
I hope you enjoy it!

Easy Creamy Parmesan Lemon Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta of your choice
- 1 tbsp of butter
- 3-4 cloves of garlic crushed
- 1 cup cream (heavy / whipping cream)
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (use a vegetarian alternative if preferred)
- 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the pasta and cook until al dente.
- While the water comes to a boil and the pasta cooks, make the sauce.
- Melt the butter in a pan set over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and allow to cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the cream, sour cream, lemon juice, and zest.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes or until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
- Reduce the heat then add the Parmesan and parsley. Stir in, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Drain the pasta, reserving one cup of pasta water. Add the pasta to the sauce along with a few spoonfuls of pasta water and toss until the pasta is coated in the sauce and the sauce is creamy. You might need to add more water as the pasta absorbs the sauce and the sauce thickens.
- Serve scattered with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan
