You guys!!! These Lemon Brownies are so good! They are now one of my favorite desserts. I am not kidding you! The lemon glaze is just the right amount of tart and sweet, while the brownie itself is tender, buttery and lemony.

Notes
*After cooling for an hour on the counter, I have removed the brownies from the baking dishes using the parchment paper, and placed on a cookie sheet inside the refrigerator to chill completely. I admit it, I’m not very patient at times!
** After pouring the glaze on, and smoothing it out, I have been known to pop it back in the fridge for faster setting.
Ingredients
- Brownie Ingredients
- – 1 C unsalted butter softened
- – 1 1/2 C sugar
- – 2 tbsp lemon zest
- – 4 large eggs
- – 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
- – 1 tsp baking powder
- Lemon Glaze ingredients
- – 1 1/2 C powdered sugar
- – 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- – 4 tbsp lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 13 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Using a large bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Using a hand or stand mixer, beat together the butter, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
- Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour batter into the baking pan and bake for 25 – 28 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Make sure to not over bake.
- Allow to cool completely on the counter. (SEE NOTE*)
- Using a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Pour the glaze over the brownies and spread evenly.
